Barberry Group appoints new non-executive consultant

Investor and developer Barberry Group has appointed Ian Cornock (pictured above) as a non-executive consultant.

Ian, who was formerly head of UK regions at JLL, started his career in 1985 at Debenham Tewson & Chinnocks (which became DTZ and now Cushman & Wakefield), before moving on to Erdman Lewis (now Colliers), and then to King Sturge, which later merged with JLL — he stepped down from JLL in January 2022.

During his career, his focus has evolved from offices into development and regeneration work, while advising clients such as Argent, Birmingham City council, Freshwater and Oval.

Commenting on his appointment, Ian said: “I am excited to be working with Barberry, [which is] a company I have always admired for its can-do attitude and ability to be very fleet of foot in adapting to the market.

“I believe the skills I have learned in my career — managing a business and working with both occupiers and landlords in the private and public sector — will enable me to give an additional perspective to the team.”

Henry Bellfield, MD at Barberry, also added: “Ian’s appointment is exciting for us and reflects the success and growth of the business.

“His skills and experience will prove invaluable as we continue to deliver our ambitious development and investment growth strategy, and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”
